Breaking Bad with Bryan Cranston
Garcia is well-known for his portrayal of “No-Doze” in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul – a henchman, drug-dealer involved in a range of villainous behavior from theft to attempted murder. “I was really bummed-out when the character died in Breaking Bad,” he told the panel crowd.
Bryan Cranston is one of Garcia’s favorite actors to work with. “He is quiet and low-key yet he cracks jokes all the time,” Garcia said, noting Cranston is “a very unique and humble person of great talent.”

Growing up in east L.A. and "the big break"
Garcia’s Background Garcia explained to the audience that he was raised by his single mom in east Los Angeles, California, a predominantly Mexican American community otherwise known to locals as the “hood.”
His early memories included at age five witnessing someone die, being arrested before puberty, and numerous trips to trauma centers. Soon after he joined a gang, whose older members became Garcia’s role models. He never experienced, nor graduated from, high school. But he was involved with correctional facilities and drug/alcohol abuse centers.
Compounding it all was the death of his younger brother at age 19. “I thought I would spend the rest of my life in a jail cell with my closest friends or die like my younger brother,” Garcia explained during the Collective Con 2021 panel.
Garcia’s "Big Break"
While they were financially poor, Cesar was wealthy in talent. He went to a music video production where an agent, who thought Garcia had a “good look and attitude,” approached him about being an actor. “Acting fell into my lap,” Garcia said. He immediately dedicated himself to the craft of acting. “I got a feel for it and I kept going,” he said.
